The Accel Financial Counseling program was developed by GreenPath, Inc., one of the largest and the most successful non-profit financial education and counseling organizations in the nation. Founded in 1961 by credit unions for credit unions, The Accel program is designed with your members in mind.

OUR MISSION
Accel’s mission is to be recognized as the highest quality provider of financial education and counseling to credit unions. Our strategic partnerships are designed to build member loyalty, instill fiscal responsibility, and minimize credit union loan losses.

Standard of Excellence
The Accel Financial Counseling program is committed to providing our credit union partners with a service level that is second to none. The goal of our organization and our staff is to not just to meet our partner’s expectations, but to exceed them.

The qualifications of Accel financial counselors reflects our commitment to providing our partners with the very best. All counselors, even those that answer initial calls, have at least a four-year degree and have exceeded the National Foundation of Credit Counseling’s (NFCC) requirement for counselors. Additionally, all counselors participate in ongoing training to stay current in their professions and with changes in the law.

In addition to continuous quality improvement, all members that call Accel are sent a survey to evaluate our service. All returned surveys are then passed on to our partner credit union. Accel is HUD certified in all aspects of housing counseling and our counselors are certified credit report reviewers.
